Only during model breaks, meal breaks, and after hours may attendees photograph and / or take video at the symposium. The Figure Society encourages attendees to document and share their experiences via social media.
This unique symposium is a rare occasion where artists will be sharing some of their most personal thoughts on art, philosophy, etc, which is the intellectual property of each artist.
The Figure Society wholeheartedly encourages note taking, sketching, writing, etc, as means to personally document each person's individual experience.
The Figure Society expects all attendees to be respectful of these limits whose aim is to not only protect the models' privacy and artists' intellectual property, but also to promote a spirit of being present in the precious and ephemeral act of exchange and creation. As such any participant who does not respect these guidelines will be given an initial, polite warning to please be respectful. If any continued abuse of these guidelines persists, the attendee will be permanently removed from the current symposium and banned from any future events by The Figure Society without a refund.
These guidelines are not meant to be draconian, but rather to cultivate a respectful culture of exchange and honesty that is not so readily present in much of today's technologically-saturated landscape.
PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY / VIDEOS
The Figure Society hires professional photographers and videographers to document each symposium. These are artists in their own right who are fully briefed on respecting the sensitivity of the event. These hired professionals are the only individuals authorized to photograph or film during the entire event.
Photographs and videos taken by The Figure Society and their hired professionals are the property of The Figure Society and may be used for any promotional materials by The Figure Society at any time.
If you do not wish to be photographed or filmed, please notify The Figure Society via email at least 7 days prior to the event.
