The second Figure Society Symposium will be held at the splendid Mahler Ballroom in St Louis, Missouri, April 15 - 17, 2027, feauring the phenomenal models and artists listed below.

New to this year is a pre-Symposium drawing / painting demo held on Wednesday April 14, 2027, from 4 - 8PM. Anyone can purchase their ticket for this demo separate from the Symposium.

On the eve of the Symposium, Wednesday, April 14th, 2027, from 4 - 8 PM, Martin Campos, Dan Thompson, and Shane Wolf will all be working with Andrea Morani, showcasing their very individual approaches, explaining their process, and answering your questions.

FAQ’s

With the exception of the pre-Symposium drawing / painting demo, no there will not be formal instruction or critiques during the Symposium itself.
The Figure Society is an entirely unique adventure. It is a giant, open studio where you get to draw / paint / sculpt alongside amazing artists and interact with them the entire time. There will be ample time for Q&A, and discussions are encouraged throughout the entire event. The invited artists and models are all available to field your questions publicly, or simply in one-on-one conversations as time allows.
Each of the 3 days models will be posing for 5 hours total, so 15 hours of total model time for the full symposium. Pose times will be constantly varied per model, offering the public choices in their approach (for example during the inaugural symposium, pose times varied from 1 minute to 12 hours; different models juggled different pose times each day).
You are also more than welcome to simply sit back, enjoy some refreshments, good conversations, and watch new works of art created from the symposium magic.
Yes! In the Mahler Ballroom's vast open space, all artists and models will be spread out on the main floor and working simultaneously for 5 hours per day. One of the fundamental elements of The Figure Society is to create an exceptional, professional working space for models and artists such that everyone can create their works alongside each other, and share in that collective force that always seems to lift everyone to their best.
New for this year, we are offering a phenomenal demo experience on Wednesday, April 14th, 2027, from 4 - 8 PM. Dan Thompson, Martin Campos, and Shane Wolf will all be demoing their vastly different approaches, working with the fantastic Italian model Andrea Morani, and answering your questions the entire time.
This demo is a $100 add-on, and can be reserved here. The artists and model will all be open to questioning during the entire demo, and process photos of the works may be taken during model breaks.
Pease note: the Pre-Symposium Demo ticket is only valid for the Wednesday demo. If you would like to attend the 3-day Symposium, that is a separate ticket.

The Central West End is a beautiful neighborhood with local boutiques, quality restaurants, lounges, bars, and even the city's exceptional park, Forest Park, all within walking distance.
Yes! A few blocks away from the Mahler Ballroom is the AC Hotel, who has agreed to partner with us for the symposium and offer a room discount for the dates (it's about a 10-minute walk to the Mahler Ballroom). Since this is our first time partnering with them, they are blocking only 15 rooms with our discount, but they will add more if we fill this up.

On a technical note, this is what the AC Hotel has communicated:
-The link is best opened in Chrome or Edge internet web browsers. Using alternate internet web browsers, i.e. Internet Explorer or Firefox could result in a "No Availability" or "Error" outcome.
-A "No Availability" outcome will result if the requested room type is not available for all nights of the intended stay. Should this occur, try to adjust the dates of stay or select an alternate room type.
Thursday, April 15th:
9 AM doors open, continental breakfast buffet. Artists and models work from 10 AM - 1 PM. Two-hour lunch break. Artists and models work from 3 PM - 5 PM. 6:30 PM doors close.
Friday April 16th:
9 AM doors open, continental breakfast buffet. Artists and models work from 10 AM - 1 PM. Two-hour lunch break. Artists and models work from 3 PM - 5 PM. 5 PM(ish) - 5:45 PM(ish) Q & A with invited artists and models. 6:30 PM doors close.
Saturday April 17th:
9 AM doors open, continental breakfast buffet. Artists and models work from 10 AM - 1 PM. 90-minute lunch break. Artists and models work from 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM. Break until 7 PM. True to the nature of a "symposium": 7 PM - 11 PM = P A R T Y T I M E ! ! Cocktail hour and semi-formal / formal dinner gala.

Some, yes. We are still building our inventory of quality, professional equipment to have on site. For this second edition we will have at least 9 sculpture stands (on wheels), 30 standing easels, and 12 drawing horses available. The Figure Society also provides drawing boards and clamps, paper towels, brush soap, linseed oil for soaking brushes (remember this is a solvent-free event), and plenty of chairs.
Though this is a fair amount of equipment, it will not be sufficient for all attendees. If you are traveling to the event or if you are local, we kindly ask you to please bring your own travel easel / setup if you can to assure that everyone has proper equipment. We really appreciate this community effort as we build our own inventory.
Absolutely. The Mahler Ballroom is a giant, open space where all the artists and models will be working simultaneously (not in separate spaces), with ample space to move around and change sight lines and / or models to work from. There is also a unique, full wraparound mezzanine that will allow artists to get a bird's eye view of the action down on the ballroom floor.
Of course! But ONLY during model breaks, meal breaks, and after hours. Respecting the intimacy of the beautiful models posing for us is crucial, thus no photography, video, or recording is allowed by the attendees during any times when models are posing nude.
The Figure Society will have professional photographers and videographers on site who will be fully briefed on respecting the sensitivity of the event. These hired professionals are the only individuals authorized to photograph or film while the artists are working from the nude models.

The Figure Society is not imposing any sort of dress code, but please do consider this:
Having the honor and privilege of working with a nude model, witnessing the precious artist-model exchange, and working alongside some of the world's most accomplished artists is an exceptional occurence. As such, The Figure Society strongly recommends that each attendee have some earnest intention in his / her dress code for the Symposium. This is up to each person to decide; nothing will be imposed. We kindly ask you to simply consider how incredibly unique this opportunity is for everyone involved, and dress as per your preferences.
